How Much Does It Cost to Charter a Private Jet?

March 7, 2019 Published by

Hiring a private jet for the first time often raises questions about cost. Private jet prices can vary greatly, depending on various factors:

  • length of the trip
  • requested aircraft type
  • number of passengers
  • requested catering
  • time between booking and departure

Pricing from A to Z

On the lower end of the price scale, Piston and Turboprop aircraft are highly cost-efficient aircraft which start from as little as € 1.500 / Flight Hour. Thanks to their agile performance characteristics, these aircraft can operate into even the shortest of runways – however on the flip-side they tend to have smaller and less luxurious cabins and fly slower than their jet equivalents.

For the majority of AlbaJet clients, who require fast and cost-effective hops between smaller cities, we recommend the Entry Level-, Light- and Super Light Light Jet categories. These start at around € 2.500 / Flight Hour and are ideal for business trips which cannot be completed with commercial air travel.

For groups of 4 passengers or more, Midsize- and Super-Midsize Jets provide the luxury of larger cabins and additional luggage capacity. These categories start around € 3.500 / Flight Hour.

For long-haul flights, using Heavy or Ultra Long Range Jets, pricing starts at approximately € 6.000 / Flight Hour. These aircraft typically come with a flight attendant by default, and can comfortably seat up to 15 passengers.

Looking to travel with more than 15 passengers? AlbaJet also provides airliner charter solutions, starting from € 15.000 / Flight Hour. When breaking this cost down to a per-seat basis, airline charter with AlbaJet can often be significantly more cost-effective, and flexible, than booking traditional airline tickets.

When is the best time to book?

The answer is simple: we recommend to book as soon as you have firm travel plans.

Last minute travel arrangements are no problem at all, however please consider that the options will be significantly more limited – especially at peak times.

What are empty-legs?

From time to time private aircraft are required to perform empty “positioning-flights” in order to perform another charter flight. These empty-legs are often available at a significantly reduced price compared to normal charter rates, however also are subject to limitation placed by the primary charter.
