Known by many as the “Ferrari of the Sky”, the Piaggio Avanti is a twin-engine turboprop manufactured by Piaggio Aero in Genoa, Italy. Renowned for its unique, “push-prop” design, the Avanti is a very unusual, albeit luxurious aircraft.
Thanks to its powerful turboprop engines, the Piaggio Avanti has a cruising speed and cruising altitude very similar to that of a jet. This similarity continues in the cabin of the Avanti, which is unusually large for its category: the cabin is 1.80 metres tall and 1.86 metres wide.
In 2014 Piaggio launched the Piaggio Avanti P180 EVO, which is even faster than the P180. Both the Piaggio Avanti, and Avanti Evo, provide cost-effective alternatives to private jet charter.
